Of course the "proxy module" would be a LOT more work since m0n0wall has
nothing in place for modular additions. You'd also have to upgrade the
module every time a new revision of m0n0wall came out. I'm running the
current build on a 16 MB CF card, and the .img file is only 600 KB
larger than the original version 1.0 file.

This installation of squid doesn't cache anything. It is simply used
for access control and logging. All of the working files for Squid are
on the vfs, so the only thing written to the CF is the config.xml file.
