I agree that there should be a good defined 'core' framework and a
separate gui framework.
But I think PHP could do this without any problems. If you talk about
gcj you also can start developing stuff in C (++) ;)
The radius programming is already in PHP OO style except for the
captiveportal function itself. (but can be integrate as method)
I kept in mind that the PPTP authentication/accounting (or even ipsec)
could also benefit from the restyle.
I'm not familiar with GCJ and I think lots of people aren't (and also
lots of other people are). The conversion of the whole thing will be a
lot of work...
SVN would be great, I don't recommend CVS because more and more people
are moving to subversion
