because we don't have the resources to maintain an entire OS when it's
no longer going to be maintained in a year or so. Because there's
much more than ath support missing, many new Ethernet NIC's aren't
supported either. Because there will be a lot more new hardware
coming out that isn't ever going to be supported. and many more
reasons.
it's not even close to a viable option for the future.
1.3 isn't coming out as a stable release next week, if FreeBSD 6 is
the OS of choice, it'll have plenty of time to mature. 6 will be
considered a production release before 1.3 is done.
