For instance all the discussions going around few time ago regarding 
support for 802.11g mini-pci in m0n0wall can be very easy resolved:
buy an 802.11g access-point and connect it to m0n0wall !

That's what I'm doing and I really don't see what would be the big 
advantage of using a mini-pci instead (beside the space used).

Almost every network related technology comes with ethernet interfaces 
so why bother with drivers ?
