How did you install the image? Did you install it via the "Firmware Update"
feature in the webGui? If so, it has kept the configuration from prior to
the update.

I've also changed the default config.xml file in an image and when I write
the image to a flash disk (using phydiskwrite), then boot up, it has that
config.xml file when it comes up.

Subject: [m0n0wall-dev] Changing default configuration

Hello!

I edited the generic-pc-1.22.img following a howto (
http://jief.theroux.ca/?page_id=6 ). So far, everything worked out fine,
I was able to apply changes and so on.

Now my question/problem: I also edited the 'conf.default/config.xml'
which is supposed to be default configuration, but once I reinstall my
customized m0n0wall, it starts using the standard config as if there
were no changes applied.

After the first booting is done, I let m0n0 'Reset to factory defaults'
and after another reboot my changes are applied.

Any Ideas why this is?

Many thanks
    Alexander
