Subject:  Re-compiling mpd to adjust echo request/reply packets
 Date:  Thu, 15 Jun 2006 10:12:23 +0200
We are using monowall to connect to 30 sites running on 3G and Edge
wireless cell technology. I am using the monowall built in PPTP VPN.
At the moment every 60 seconds an echo-request and echo- reply is send
out through mpd. Studying the MPD sources I noticed that this is hard-coded
in MPD.
I would like to increase this timer to 4 -5 minutes, in order to cut
down the bandwidth usage 4 - 5 fold. Is there a full source of mono
that is downloadable where I can alter this settings and recompile mono ?
I am not very familiar with FreeBSD( althoug I am with Linux ) , would I
need to load a complete
system with BSD, compile MPD and overwrite MPD in the current release ?
Ps i noticed that only the PHP script are on CVS, is there a reason
the entire monowall OS is not available in the repository ?
Many thanks
