hi folks

-set course to bsd 6.1 ... engage !-

I'll be available (now much is depending on the normal workload) for
testing.
I got several wrap boards, a lot of different mini-pci a/b/g WiFi cards and
a several PC based hardware to test with, also vlan switches, routers, Linux
boxes etc.

Personally, the reason to want a bsd6 version is mainly hardware support
like newer NICs, more a/b/g WiFi support etc.
My idea would be to focus on getting the current features just as stable (or
even more stable if possible) but with a better hw support.
New features made possible will be nice in future releases.
To do this while maintaining the current focus on small footprint, minimal
hw spec and being compatible with and optimal for embedded platforms like
soekris/wrap will be a big enough challenge I'm sure :)

As far as the 1000$ "bounty" , maybe the winner decides to buy all major
contributors a wrap or soekris machine to test on in the future or make a
compile farm of soekris, wrap, pc etc for everyone to use remotely to test
on :) I'm sure he or she will find a creative purpose for the money that
matches the style of this project, if he/she doesn't want to keep it
privately.

Anyway, I'm excited about this step and Ill try to help where I can !

With kind regards,

Jurgen van Vliet
