The 4.11 is an old version but works (unless you need new - hardware -
drivers) very fine.
Some url´s (freebsd.org on mirrors) changed but thats not very much.
AFAIK its still possible
to use cvsup to get the latest /usr/ports brunch. You can use this
scripts to download and let
the needed software compile. Only some parts are needed to
download,compile and patch by
your self (its explained in the m0n0wall Developers' Handbook).
Questions are welcome here
but keep in mind that the m0n0wall Developers' Handbook is only a "help"
to build a mono image
by your self. It is not a "follow and you are done" manual for users
without any experiance.

You dont must be an perfect expert but some admin know how isnt wrong.
Let us know if
you run still in problems (with more details that users here are able to
help you).
