I'm trying to install monowall on a shuttle xps system/cf card that is
currently running FreeBSD 6.1 on a hard disk that is on its last legs.
The reason I didn't do this in the first place is the ethernet on the
motherboard is:
myk0: <Marvell 88E8053 Gigabit Ethernet Controller, Ver. 8.12.2.3> port
0xc000-0xc0ff mem 0xd0020000
-0xd0023fff irq 16 at device 0.0 on pci1
monowall doesn't recognize that device, and since the xps only has one
slot, I need it. I tried copying the if_myk.ko driver into the
boot/kernel directory where I found acpi.ko, but as expected, it's not
that simple.
So, I either need to bribe someone who has the development environment
for monowall already setup to build me one with the myk driver, or to
find docs on how to set up a dev environment so I can do it myself. I
do have a new 10G drive waiting (couldn't believe Fry's actually *had*
10G drives yesterday! for $20 no less), but I'd rather get rid of the
pesky things entirely for this router.
Thanks! |
