Literally everything I know about this was in my last post.  :)  If
there's anything further than what I put in my last message, Manuel
will have to comment.

I just know that much because I found the bug originally (amongst
several others) and was the one who did the troubleshooting to narrow
down the problem to exactly what I described.  That was back with the
first 5.3-based beta, and Manuel had to put in a new fix for the same
issue in 6.1.  Manuel wrote and implemented both the kernel patches.
