Well yes we can use general LIST account for every post that we extracted
from the mailing list. Just so if some one would wonder.

OK, in otherwords we will not authenticate from the list to the forum.

The thing is, the database requires these feild when records are added. It
would be good if there was a dummy account (I didn't really mean auto add)
that I can associate to entrias added by the mailbot.

Cheers

I don't think we should auto add list users to the forum, then we would have
to big mess, beside what is the point of that? If some one from the list
would want to get forum account they can do so. The only possible reason
could be anti-spam, but so far I haven't seen spam on this list at all.

How about authentication.

Do you want to;

1. Check if their email is already registered with the forum.
2. If not add a user called "list" and add messages under that user?

or we could leave this till later. and just get something basic for now.

Ok I have seted up forum on my server, I will give u DB password but please
remove it from email if you going to reply, Its separate DB so it wont do
any harm to me but if too many ppl play with DB records it can screw the
project.

Forum location:

http://pubnet.lrc-wireless.com/forum/

DB Host: vipelite.net

DB User: vipelite_mono

DB Pass: test

DB Name: vipelite_forum

The table we are looking for is msf_messages and ther should be another one
for topics.

We may need to think about how the emails are going to be sorted
heirarchically in the forum.

Unless its pure chronological, emails are not going to contain thier
appropriate sub areas. One basic solution is to put all new comments from
email into a "list" forum category.

This is what I am getting at my end (see attachment)

Up to the stage where I check the email against forum db.

Am going to need a test db for this, do you have;

-an sql dump of the db schema with some sample data in it?
-forum source would also be nice? :) but not absolutly required now.

SIDENOTE (Are we sure we want to delete after adding to db or is there a
chance we may be better off moving to another folder for
recordkeeping(backup) purposes?

Cheers
