I'm not sure, but I don't think so. The captive portal is either MAC or IP
based which is defeated by sharing the same MAC and IP address behind a
router.

Subject: [m0n0wall-dev] Authenticating endusers behind the router
Hello
Can m0n0wall be used as a captive portal for end users behind the
router?
I want to authenticate end users behind the router before enabling
internet access.
Here is the setup,
End User1..n -> Router ->(lan) m0n0wall (wan)-> Internet
I found that as first user authenticated through portal, others are able
to access internet without requiring authentication (not redirected to
the portal).
I am having Router without NAT enabled, Is this scenario possible using
IP enforcement? If yes please guide.
Regards,
Rajesh. |
