my opinion...
1 - this method is an undesirable hack and almost certainly not
something you'll see Manuel accommodate.
2 - adding a second config file for hosts only would defeat one of the
major design purposes of only having a single file to backup/restore.
You could argue that it wouldn't be a big deal to change the
backup/restore process, but you won't see this goal being defeated for
a hack that only a small fraction of the user base would want.
