 Subject:  bandwith limits problem
 Date:  Tue, 8 Mar 2005 19:05:39 +0100
maybe i didn't understand it right, but shouldn't i be able to just activate bandwith limits in the
capive portal, set a default bandwith and then the clients should go online using this certain
limit? (all that, without a radius server being present?) .. the strange thing is: if i set the
default speed limit for both upload and download to 128Kbit/s and activate the bandwith throtteling,
my client computer, after authorisation (as stated without a user or password) can resolve
www.google.ch but it can't receive any packets from the server. even a ping doesn't get an answer.
as soon as i turn off bandwith throtteling, everything works fine. and yes, i can see my client in
the list of authenticated clients, so the authentication part worked... to enter the limits i did of
course apply the fix to the previousley posted but with the values and firefox 0.9.
any ideas? i suspect that there might be a fundamental problem with the actual bandwith restricting
mechanism but i have no idea how to prove that.
PS: if this is not the correct mailinglist to post bug reports for the current betas, please let me
know where to do so, so i don't have to bother you with it.
