So we can just stay on 4.x forever?  That's not feasible.  

The main reason for switching to 5.3 now was a couple thousand people
(ok, maybe not quite that many, but a bunch) screaming about 802.11a/g
wireless support.  It also opens many other possibilities, like ALTQ
for much improved traffic shaping.

Everything will work just fine on 5.3 eventually too.  These were
known to be rough betas, and Manuel warned of this.
