Hi, pb10 is up, and the promised CD-ROM + floppy disk version is finally available for downloading, so m0n0wall is no longer for net45xx users only. :) Please see the homepage for detailed installation instructions. It should work on all standard PCs with a BIOS that is recent enough to correctly support the El Torito CD-ROM booting standard. No hard disk is necessary, and the CD may even be removed after booting (although this is not recommended). Changes in pb10: - 1:1 NAT support Requires a static "primary" WAN IP address; theoretically it should work with PPPoE/PPTP (but not DHCP) on WAN, too (I haven't been able to test it, though), so DSL accounts that have a static routed subnet may be able to use this feature (despite the warning). If that works for you, please let me know. - CF card (or floppy disk) is no longer remounted (for writing) with mount -u ..., but instead completely unmounted and remounted again (as mount -ur does not flush the cache properly and sync doesn't help either) Enjoy, Manuel |
