Hi David, This is a bit of a stab in the dark since I'm fundamentally clueless, but it sure looks like a driver-level issue. Are you doing dynamic WEP (i.e. 802.1x, PSK, etc) by any chance? A lot of cards freak (reset) when the wep key changes (well-known *nix driver issue). I think Madwifi (Atheros) handles it well, but I don't know how far along others are or how up-to-date the bundled versions in Mono are. If you are using D-wep, then setting up a clear SSID to test on would tell. Just a thought. -Keith ________________________________ From: David Courtney [mailto:blixel at gmail dot com] Sent: Tue 12/28/2004 9:51 AM To: m0n0wall at lists dot m0n0 dot ch Subject: [m0n0wall] Fwd: Wireless problems I updated my comBIOS to 1.27a and updated m0n0wall to the latest beta, 1.2b3, but this is still happening. Does anyone have any ideas at all? I would hate to think that my $25 Netgear WAP is better than my $410 Soekris+m0n0wall WAP. Here is the error I'm seeing *after* the comBIOS and m0n0wall updates. m0n0wall console setup ********************** 1) Interfaces: assign network ports 2) Set up LAN IP address 3) Reset webGUI password 4) Reset to factory defaults 5) Reboot system 6) Ping host Enter a number: wi0: watchdog timeout wi0: timeout in wi_seek to 14a/0; last status 800b wi0: timeout in wi_seek to 14a/3c; last status 800b wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x010b; event status 0x0000 wi0: xmit failed wi0: timeout in wi_seek to 14a/0; last status 810b wi0: timeout in wi_seek to 0/0; last status 4000 wi0: seek failed while allocating memory on card wi0: tx buffer allocation failed wi0: timeout in wi_seek to 0/0; last status 4000 wi0: timeout in wi_seek to 0/3c; last status 403c wi0: xmit failed wi0: watchdog timeout wi0: timeout in wi_seek to 13b/3c; last status 403c Does anyone else have problems with m0n0wall and wireless access? Every time I download a file from one of my wireless systems, m0n0wall freaks out. Here is what I am seeing right now. m0n0wall console setup ********************** 1) Interfaces: assign network ports 2) Set up LAN IP address 3) Reset webGUI password 4) Reset to factory defaults 5) Reboot system Enter a number: wi0: wi_cmd: busy bit won't clear. wi0: wi_cmd: busy bit won't clear. wi0: wi_cmd: busy bit won't clear. wi0: wi_cmd: busy bit won't clear. wi0: wi_cmd: busy bit won't clear. wi0: wi_cmd: busy bit won't clear. I'm using m0n0wall 1.11 built on Thu Nov 11 23:02:41 CET 2004 Should I downgrade to 1.0? Should I upgrade to a beta version?
