I've seen 500,000 or more stated in some places.  

m0n0wall only writes to the CF when you change the configuration (it
runs off a memory disk).  So say it is 300,000 times.  If you change
your m0n0wall configuration once a day on average (unlikely it'll be
that much) that 300,000 writes will take 821 years.  :)
