If you are using proxy server this could happend. I used to use the 
602LanSuite,Very good proxy sever but with some version of Internet Explorer 
I had same problem. As soonm as I installed a mozilla browser everithings is 
OK. Try diferent browser, this looks like problem at Your side...

Ok...this is a problem I have been having in both 1.2b2 and 1.2b3 and
it's driving me nuts...

For no apparent reason, a connection to a website can freeze and it
takes up to a minute before I can browse that or any other site. Pinging
the websites works just fine, but connecting to it via a webbrowser does
not work
