Subject:  pfSense - compared and tested!
 Date:  Wed, 9 Feb 2005 14:22:13 +0100
Hi guys, i know this not mailing about pfSense, but i was very curious and i tested this software
8days, including trying to get some support and etc.

Here are short results: pfSense will be a good software but not yet! As the author said: pfSense is
ALPHA ALPHA version, YES its true. You can't use it for proper work. Its contain a LOT of small

As soon as they will reach a stable version this will be very good network software, strong firewall
(based on m0n0wall), and usefull packages: per IP traffic accountig, network monitoring, ftp server
and much more...

Developer/Users are using IRC for comunnication, you can get help very quick but none informations
are saved. (you can't search in mailing list or in archive like m0n0 users do... thats shame.)

Im not complainig, it was just a test. Hope this info will help to someone like me, who is looking
for somethings all-in-one. (acounting, shaping, ftp.... things for small (vilage) network...low
cost network (one PC and one switch)

But don't forgot> m0n0 and pfSense have different goals!
