I have the same issue. 1.2b6 generic pc

Enabled allow fragmented packets on default LAN rule, but no change....

Works fine for me.  I'm not using PPPoE though.  If it's not working
specifically on PPPoE only, I'd guess a fragment issue.  Try allowing
fragments on your default LAN firewall rule.  Why this would only be an
issue with b6 I don't know.
