No, these two bugs are not related.

I know. I've asked Fred Wright to take a look at ipfilter 3.4.35 when
he gets a chance to determine what needs to be changed to make it
work again. Ironically, this bug was supposed to be fixed in 3.4.35
(as per the change log).
