This is perhaps slightly OT, but does anyone know of any "safe" /22s I can use in 192.168/16? By "safe" I mean ranges that are unlikely to exist in SOHO grade products by default. The problem I'm running into is that I travel with my laptop and when I'm at a customer's site and I VPN into my office LAN, I'm unable to communicate with the customer's internal LAN resources since the IP range conflicts with my VPN and the VPN takes priority. Obviously without getting my own block of IPs I can never guarantee I won't run into problems, but I thought I'd move my internal network to a /22 that isn't used elsewhere. FWIW I'm actually running a couple separate networks in /24s, but it makes life easier to find a contiguous /22 that I can carve up internally rather then dealing with multiple /24s in firewall rules. I've discovered that 192.168.0./24 192.168.1/24 192.168.50/24 192.168.100/24 and 192.168.200/24 appear to be frequently used. Any body know of any others that are used by default by any common SOHO firewall products? 10/8 is out of the question as I VPN into a site that uses 10/8 Thanks in advance for any feedback or suggestions. -- No Sprinkles.
