-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there! I am happy using m0n0wall on a IBM Netstation 8364 now after having some trouble setting it up last night. Are there any known Problems with RTL NICs and PPPoE? There were connection issues (timeouts) when trying to connect to my ISP My personal Problem is now solved because I simply switched the Adapters on LAN and WAN (WAN ist now the Internal Intel whatever NIC) and now it works. Both RTL RTL 8139 (Rev. B and C) NICs I tried, were working flawlessly on my old machine running IPCop. I didn't keep the original logs since I don't run a syslog-server, but it looked similar to this excerpt which I pasted from another mail on the list: http://m0n0.ch/wall/list/? action=show_msg&actionargs%5B%5D=138&actionargs%5B%5D=17 Jan 1 00:06:23 mpd: [pppoe] device: OPEN event in state DOWN Jan 1 00:06:23 mpd: [pppoe] pausing 2 seconds before open Jan 1 00:06:23 mpd: [pppoe] device is now in state DOWN Jan 1 00:06:25 mpd: [pppoe] device: OPEN event in state DOWN Jan 1 00:06:25 mpd: [pppoe] device is now in state OPENING Jan 1 00:06:34 mpd: [pppoe] PPPoE connection timeout after 9 seconds Jan 1 00:06:34 mpd: [pppoe] device: DOWN event in state OPENING Jan 1 00:06:34 mpd: [pppoe] device is now in state DOWN (to be continued...) Additionally I remember having read something like "DOWN event while in state OPENING" between the lines... Sorry that I can't provide more info right now, I hope this helps to solve an issue if there is any As always: This is a great piece of software, keep it up :-) Regards Markus - -- Markus Kamp <mailto:mk underscore cactus at gmx dot de> Hahnerberger Str. 111 42349 Wuppertal -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (Darwin) iD8DBQFCUjpTXijo7TSzWzQRAp7OAKCpkdku6vCJCpxXkq/EDj6O1t/3nwCgpRFR e3RrlJcAcXChYJFzN7mORTo= =ZCum -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
