I have both pc's plugged into a switch using known good patch cables.
The switch is dual speed and I've never had a problem with it before,
but, using a crossover might not be a bad idea to eliminate that as a
problem. I am not using the DHCP server and assigned a static ip to the
client.

Someone else in this list mentioned I have to assigned each nic to
lan/wan. Is that true? If so, I have not done that yet.

Thanks

Are you using a cross-over cable or hub in between?
Are you receiving a DHCP-assigned address on your client?
The mOnO and client cards are compatible or you have a switch? (10 or
100 -
half / full)
Did you activate the DHCP server?
Did you connect to the LAN NIC?

You can always try to set a fixed address to your client, do eliminate
the
dhcp questions...

I am new to m0n0wall and am trying to set it up. I'm using a pentium 2
based
pc
with 3com cards. I am able to specify what ip I want my lan interface to
be,
but,
I cannot connect to the webmin. I can't even ping the ip address. What
am I
doing
wrong. I'm sure the 3c905 cards are supported, so, what am I missing.

I'm sure it's something easy. Thanks for the help.
