I think I'm a little bit stupid or only blind. I don't know what exactly and
therefor please don't hit me... ;)

If a client gets an IP, he also gets in his resolv.conf the domain (search),
which I configured in my m0n0wall. But my Gentoo shows
<hostnam>.unknown_domain, if I'm connected to my LAN. If I'm connected to a
friends LAN, I get his correct domain assigned.

Ok, he doesn't use m0n0wall, but where's my point of failure in thinking?

I use m0n0wall 1.2b8.
