Most firewalls and Web servers always report time in UTC format...

It confuses people when I have to provide IIS logs also.

Subject: Re: [m0n0wall] adjusting system time question

The system.php setup page for Time Interval says
"Minutes between network time sync.; 300 recommended, or 0 to disable"

Does this mean I either have to wait or reboot the box to get the
correct time for firewall logs?

At this point I am now back to using America/New_York as the time zone.
I did not change the server. still pointing to 198.82.1.201.

The m0n0wall firewall log time is still off by 5 hours...BUT, the data
sent to the syslog server (wallwatcher) is reporting the correct time.
Very strange. I am wondering if there is something in the firewall php
page that is not compensating for the difference in time ??

I have not rebooted the box yet since making these changes.
