I am pretty sure people will complain that I am writing this to the list,
but I use both. Pfsense (a variation of monowall) has a carp setup where
you use the opt interface for redundancy and it allows for failover. Might
be worth looking into.

Subject: [m0n0wall] Redundacy,etc?
I am wondering what people do for redundancy and fault tolerance? Does
monowall have any type of watchdog service that will ping a host and reboot
if it is unresponsive? I had an issue today where the box locked up and had
to be rebooted. As of now I am blaming it on the hardware.
