 Subject:  problem writing net48xx-1.11.img on cfc
 Date:  Thu, 11 Aug 2005 13:30:13 +0400

I'm working on linux.

as explained in the documentation, I've made the :

tmp # gunzip -c net48xx-1.11.img | dd of=/dev/sda bs=16k
gunzip: net48xx-1.11.img: decompression OK, trailing garbage ignored
384+0 records in
384+0 records out
6291456 bytes transferred in 6.089439 seconds (1033175 bytes/sec)

But my soekris net 4801 don't start

Here are the message from fdisk to verify my CompacFlash

tmp # fdisk /dev/sda
This disk has both DOS and BSD magic.
Give the 'b' command to go to BSD mode.

Command (m for help): b
Partition /dev/sda4 has invalid starting sector 0.

Command (m for help): p

Disk /dev/sda: 256 MB, 256204800 bytes
256 heads, 63 sectors/track, 31 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16128 * 512 = 8257536 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda4   *           1           4       25000   a5  FreeBSD
Partition 4 has different physical/logical endings:
     phys=(1023, 255, 63) logical=(3, 25, 41)

I think this is the problem (/dev/sda4 and Partition /dev/sda4 has invalid starting sector 0.)

How can I solve it.

A lot of thanks for any clue
