Connection problem (Xbox)

I am using a Linksys switch which is connected to my m0n0wall.  Everytime I
turn my Xbox on and I try to connect to Live it gives me a connection error.
If I unplug the network cable from the Xbox and then replug it in it works
everytime.  Any ideas as to why this is happening?  I have a static IP for
the Xbox and my PC and I have a dhcp range but they are using IPs that are
not in the dhcp range.
