You'll probably find that it's a place for soldering more video ram, or
maybe where the on-board sound chips go.

Don't worry about the missing chips... Most motherboards would have such
spaces somewhere on them. If the machine is reliable then go ahead and use
it.

I have a compaq deskpro EN 6350 SFF (board no.010602-001 rev a)looking like:

It is a PII/PIII, slot 1, BX with ati rage video chip and intel onboard net
card. My problem is that i have 2 missing chips on the mb, betwwen the
sodimm connector and the power supply. Can anybody send me a detailled
picture with that area of the mb from a similar pc?
