Already had OpenNMS running for about 1year but it eats cpu & memory due
to Java implementation. As far as I know it doesn't handle snmp-traps

OpenNMS (www.opennms.org) is free.. Haven't used it in a while but I've 
been wanting to try it again.  Don't know of any other free ones.
