I did notice some blocked UDP packets, didn't specify a port though, I
assume these are fragments, how is this corrected?

Check your firewall log for blocked fragments from/to the VPN gateway.
Works fine here with 1.2 and Cisco VPN Client 4.7 though (both in UDP
tunneling and normal ESP mode).
