I actually was referring to loopback like cisco does (its not
127.0.0.0/8 loopback) but some configurable no changing interface ip

I prefer you don't send a loopback address.  I vote for either WAN, user
configurable, or not at all.   I suspect the WAN interface to most often
be used to contact a NAS device (like a radius  server).

Should it be the wan, lan or any other value?

It currently isn't present in M0n0wall 1.2 and some users seem to need
it....

I personally would prefer a static var like the ip of a 'loopback'
device.
