At my work were in the progress of migrating our servers to new hardware. One of these servers is a webcache running linux with squid in wccp v2 mode. My current thought was, I have already 4years experience with developping webcaches and now also with development for m0n0wall, I want to built some appliance software much the same way m0n0wall works at this moment. The only difference is that this will be a firmware explicitly for webcache purposes. (system on flash running freebsd in memory fs, cache on local disks) I would use parts of the m0n0wall system (like firmware upgrades management system etc) and if Manuel agrees with the whole thing will be hosted at m0n0.ch/cache I searched on the net for a free distro for what I would like todo but found none (if any knows one, let me know) All thoughts are welcome Kind Regards, Jonathan De Graeve |
