Does it have SATA drives?  

If so, you need to set the BIOS to use "IDE Compatibility Mode", or whatever
they call it on that motherboard...

after looking at a lot of firewalls I think m0n0wall is exactly what I need

However, it won't boot. All I get is this message:

This is a supermicro 1U P4 3,4Ghz server with 1Gb memory:

Hope anyone knows what the problem might be, I used the 'generic_pc' image.
