Are there any developers out there that would like with this? We would need extensive testing for
security vulnerabilities, and improve code for performance and user friendliness.

I am in the same boat as far as this goes - working replacing the CF cards 
in my units - have to write the image, setup the LAN interface and load the 
config.xml.  Checking an option that says "Use this config file" would be 
great.
