If you just want to share your internet, an older computer, wrap board, Nokia IP330 box, etc will work fine. I can get 22mb through a 167mhz 64mb ram nokia ip330 box. I'm sharing DSL connection on 10 machines with no issues. I see cpu utilization around 2-3 percent with normal web browsing. Routing lan to lan traffic it will max out like I said at 22mb with 90 percent cpu utilization. It just depends on the bandwidth you need. -----Original Message----- From: Sea [mailto:seaeric at gmail dot com] Sent: Tue 3/21/2006 10:13 AM To: m0n0wall at lists dot m0n0 dot ch Subject: [m0n0wall] Hardware Requirements/Suggestions I am thinking of using Monowall as a replacement for our current Watchguard Firebox. We have 70 users and host our own own email server. We use webmail extensively. What hardware would people recommend for using Monowall on a network of our size? I've been looking at the hardware supplied by Logic Supply. What type of network environments have others put monowall to use with? http://www.logicsupply.com/default.php/cPath/73 Thanks, Eric |
