Agreed, PPTP with LAN IP's may actually be the only feasible solution.
Port forwarding may not work, many AP's ignore their default gateway
setting, so you can't access them from any IP off the local network.
Linksys are amongst those, if you're bridging wireless over to the LAN
port(s). They usually refuse to use any default gateway that isn't
off the WAN interface.
