Subject:  RE: [m0n0wall] Intel NICS not working.
 Date:  Wed, 24 May 2006 13:57:49 -0600
I had the a similar problem
In the beginning I got me a Intel Pro/1000 NIC for Wan and Lan interface of
witch the one of the was working and with the same up/down situation on the
second cord.
I change the card to a Realtek I play wit IRQs same problems.

In the end I had some old generic card (DAVICOM) I used it just to test put
all IRQ in default state... and to my surprise everything is working until
this day.

basic and favorite tool.

In the recommendation of MONO I see they have 3Com Nic Cards and Realtek,
you could try and see what happen... but first check your switch and make
sure everything is going on well there.

Hope this help in some way.
Best regards,

W.S:

Subject: [m0n0wall] Intel NICS not working.

Hello everyone!

I use the PC images in standard rack mount PC's

This time i used Intel Gigabit adapters (PWLA8391GT), but i noticed dropouts
more specific it looked like the adapters resets itself, because my switch
lost link for a sec or two, and then the connection was good again.

I changed NICS, cables and so on, but the problem was still there, all i got
in the console was link down and then link up again in 2-10 seconds.

I changed to 100 Mbit intel nics (PILA8460C3), same behavior but a lot more
in the logs.

Motherboard is Intel Sorrento D945GNT and i'm running for a harddisk.

I'm blank, what is wrong, have anyone seen this before ?
