We use Intel PWLA8391GTL NICs in all of our production machines and have never had problems with any of them. They have stayed up for 90 days plus. I would look to the switch as a potential problem source. What kind of switch is it? -----Original Message----- From: Ulrik Lunddahl (PROconsult) [mailto:ul at proconsult dot dk] Sent: Wednesday, May 24, 2006 9:30 AM To: m0n0wall at lists dot m0n0 dot ch Subject: Intel NICS not working. Hello everyone! I use the PC images in standard rack mount PC's This time i used Intel Gigabit adapters (PWLA8391GT), but i noticed dropouts more specific it looked like the adapters resets itself, because my switch lost link for a sec or two, and then the connection was good again. I changed NICS, cables and so on, but the problem was still there, all i got in the console was link down and then link up again in 2-10 seconds. I changed to 100 Mbit intel nics (PILA8460C3), same behavior but a lot more in the logs. Motherboard is Intel Sorrento D945GNT and i'm running for a harddisk. I'm blank, what is wrong, have anyone seen this before ? -----8<----- Last 999 system log entries May 24 11:13:56 /kernel: Waiting (max 60 seconds) for system process `vnlru' to stop...stopped May 24 11:13:56 /kernel: Waiting (max 60 seconds) for system process `bufdaemon' to stop...stopped May 24 11:13:56 /kernel: Waiting (max 60 seconds) for system process `syncer' to stop...stopped May 24 11:13:56 /kernel: May 24 11:13:56 /kernel: syncing disks...
