You've got it pretty much right there.

Set the gateway of the PC connected to the OPT1 card to 192.168.2.1.

You will have to add firewall rules to allow traffic from the OPT interface to the LAN interface.

Subject: [m0n0wall] Optional device using cross-over cable

Trying to set up a single computer on optional device using cross-over
cable.

m0n0 is on 192.168.1.1 and this is also my LAN net.

Should the optional device be at 192.168.2.1 and the computers ip at
192.168.2.2
and what should the gateway and dns be 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1

or to i have to set firewall rules to permit traffic to optional devices.

Thanks in advance for any help and if you need some info let me know
