There is an Asterisk distribution called Astlinux that combines the OS,
Asterisk and an iptables based firewall into a single system. It has
none of the management features of m0n0wall. It comes in versions
compile to run on plain vanilla PCs, Soekris or WRAP boards.

I prefer to use Astlinux on a Soekris Net4801 behind m0n0 on a Soekris
Net 4501.
