Wow, that's exactly what I need. I guess if no one has a linux or Windows util / script that does the same thing, then I'll be building up an old BSD box here just for this. I do wish that I didn't have to waste the time setting up and keeping machine around just for this (could use Plex86 or vmware I guess, but I bet the device mount stuff could have an issue..), so if anyone has Linux or Windows equivalents, I would appreciate it. As far as I know there is no way to unpack and edit the images in windows. My Linux stupidity is showing through here, but if there is a 'vn' device equivalent then a quick edit of my unpacker script should get you going (http://mrkasai.undergroup.com/m0n0wall). Otherwise I would find a tired old box and throw FreeBSD 4.9 on it. That's the easiest route, and the route the hackers guide (http://m0n0.ch/wall/hack/) was written for.
