im gonna setup monowall in a pc, serving as a gateway for a neighborhood wireless
access point.    the wireless access pt will be plugged into an ethernet card on the monowall
pc. i heard the latest ver of monowall doesnt support the atheros chipset.   
      i was thinking of a 400 mw WAP based on the engenius/senao 3220 which has a realtek 8186
chipset, 
but that is incompatible with linux and maybe freeBSD also?!?!
          However, someone at my local WUG says it doesnt matter, becuase the
engenius /senao will just be plugged into an ethernet port on the monowall pc,
so if the 3220 is "plug n play" monowall only has to support the ethernet card.
true/ false ?
          If thats true, then i dont understand the support problem for atheros chipsets.
the monowall notes say:
    " wireless cards: only wireless cards that work with the wi or an driver are supported. These
are listed in the FreeBSD/i386 Hardware Notes. For hostap, you need a card based on the PRISM-II or
-2.5 chipset. Cards that have been tested include D-Link DWL-520 Rev. A2 (PCI), Senao NL-2511CD Plus
EXT2, Cisco Aironet AIR-PCM352 and Z-Com XI-815 (CF card in PCMCIA adapter)."
    ..but im thinking that applies to a wireless card installed in the monowall pc, not
one run thru an ethernet card inn the pc.
(those not familiar with the engenius/senao 3220 see wlanparts.com)
