from the GUI, default = 2.5 hours

Why so long?
What are the implications of turning this down to 1.0 hour?
or rather any suggestion for what a better setting would be for a data center?
or should I just leave well enough alone?
Are there any benefits to reducing this value?

btw...I will be implementing an IPSEC tunnel, m0n0-to-mono and there
may periods of time exceeding 1.0 hours where no data will flow
through the tunnel.
