That's almost certainly the case. Depends on what kind of modem
you're talking about. Some, like the Netopia's that Bellsouth gives
out in this area, have 4 ports on the back and one of those has a
MDI/MDIX switch. If you have something like that, and the MDI/MDIX
switch is in the wrong position, you won't get link.
If that DSL modem has ports like a router (talking about a Cisco or
the like, real routers), you'll need a crossover to connect it to a
m0n0wall.
