You might be filling up the state table? How much memory do you have there?
The bandwidth isnt too much for the 4801 (from what I can remember)
but that is a lot of dsn requests.

m0n0 has a state table size of 30,000 states (in m0n0 1.2) and that is
usally more than enough.
