I have standardized on HP Procurves for all of my managed switches. You might find one in your price range. They are rock solid, have a fantastic warranty and give pretty good bang for the buck. I have actually bought a few off ebay to get them even cheaper. Just be very careful to read the fine print. Make sure it is a managed switch (I usually double check the model on the HP website to be sure). Also make sure you are not bidding on damaged equip. I almost won a dead switch that had been through a flood. Thankfully, someone else who didn't read the find print out bid me in the last minute.
