No authentication, I'm offer a 4mb section of my 12mb cable connection to
laptop users that live in the same apartments as I. Would the other two AP's
use the same SSID as the one I'm using now?

I would suggest something like this:

((AP))   ((AP))  ((AP))
    \ _____|______/
     | 10/100 switch|
     =============
              |
             \|/
     ______________
     | M0n0wall router|
     ==============
              |
             \|/
          WAN

If all authentication is done at the router, then just use dumb APs
and connect them through a switch. That way, all wlan traffic will
come in through only _one_ interface.

But inter-ap and inter-wlan-client traffic will still be possible, but
that is not important.
